Day 1

The best of Bonaventure

The Bioparc wildlife park is a must-visit attraction on the Gaspé Peninsula where you can discover the wealth of Gaspésian flora and fauna through its five ecosystems. Then, we suggest you visit the Musée acadien du Québec in Bonaventure, where you can find out more about our rich Acadian heritage through several different activities.

Day 2

Creative and outdoor fun!

Let your creative side out to play and take part in the Make-and-Take workshops at Ateliers du funambule. On the menu: painting masks, making necklaces, fabric painting and decorative collages. In the afternoon, make the most of the great outdoors; why not hire a bike or roller skates from Intersport and head out on the 4-km-long multipurpose trail? The trail runs along the Baie des Chaleurs so you can take in the fantastic view while stretching your legs. A must in Bonaventure!

Day 3

Paddle down the Bonaventure River

The Bonaventure River is one of the top 10 clearest rivers in the world! Kayak or canoe down the crystalline river with Cime Aventures (guided family descent for beginners with no rapids). Then swim at the Malin de la rivière Bonaventure, one of the most beautiful sites on the Gaspé Peninsula for a chat!

Day 4

Fossil fish hunting

Visit the Parc National de Miguasha, just an hour and a half’s drive from Bonaventure. Its fossilized cliff is a UNESCO World Heritage Site: the best place in the world to look for fossilized fish!

Day 5

The fisherman experience

Go on an offshore mackerel fishing trip on the L’Omirlou and discover how beautiful Bonaventure’s coastline is! Why not spend the afternoon relaxing? Head to Beaubassin beach, it’s not far from Riôtel: take advantage of the low tide to collect starfish and shells with your children or swim in the warmest water on the Gaspésian coast.

Day 6

Lots to choose from for your final day

There’s a lot to choose from for your final day: visit the Banc-de-Pêche-de-Paspébiac and see how the fishing trade developed on the east coast. Or visit the Ferme Bourdages Tradition; a farm specialized in growing strawberries and producing strawberry wine… If you’re there at the right time of year, you can pick-your-own strawberries! You could also visit the Ferme BOS G, which is the only farm in Canada that specifically raises yak.
