Our Philanthropic Mission.
Our corporate mission is to create living environments adapted to the challenges of tomorrow, in order to offer all our customers a unique experience, where innovation, expertise, and excellence are at the heart of everything we do.
The resulting philanthropic mission is to contribute to creating long-term, concrete winning conditions within organizations from four areas of involvement.
Education
Quality education has the power to positively influence individuals, communities, and future generations. If we offered everyone the chance to receive a quality education, society and individuals themselves would reach a whole new level of development.
That is why we are committed to supporting programs, organizations, and initiatives designed to promote quality education that is accessible to all.
We pay particular attention to causes related to school dropout rates, school re-engagement, keeping promising young talent in school, and motivating young boys and girls in rural areas through sports, art, or other innovative initiatives.
Health
According to the World Health Organization, average life expectancy at birth rose from 47 years in 1950-1955 to 72 years in 2015-2020, an increase of 25 years or 54% over this period.
This telling statistic confirms that our donation and sponsorship efforts must inevitably focus on the health of everyone around us.
We pay particular attention to causes related to cerebral palsy, mental health, and youth health in general.
Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship is part of our DNA. That’s why, in order to give back, we responded when the Fonds d’innovation et de développement économique local FIDEL de La Matanie created the Grands Bâtisseurs entrepreneurship scholarships.
We have committed to awarding an annual Bertrand-Rioux Grand Bâtisseur Grant worth $30,000 for five years in honor of our founder and his legendary entrepreneurial spirit.
A total of $150,000 will be used to encourage young local entrepreneurs to start their own businesses or to encourage more established business people to take the plunge into innovation or acquire new expertise.
Environment
Protecting our environment is the foundation of the sustainability of our planet, our community, and our economy. Our environment supports and shelters our ecosystems, allowing them to develop and thrive. If we do not protect our environment, we jeopardize the lives of people, animals, and plants, and all ecosystems.
Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. We are committed to researching and implementing sustainable construction, hotel management, and waste management solutions.
We pay particular attention to causes related to cleaning and maintaining the health of the riverbanks and the Gulf of St. Lawrence, as well as planting trees, with a view to reducing our carbon footprint.

While many causes deserve the support of private enterprises in order to flourish, we have chosen to invest exclusively in the 4 areas mentioned above.
In addition, pre-established rules will be applied, when analyzing applications for contributions.
